Amazon said Thursday it narrowed the list of potential sites for its second headquarters to 20 locations. Amazon said it will spend $5 billion in the place where it builds its second headquarters and will employ 50,000 there. The company previously said it was looking at metropolitan areas with 1 million people and a stable, business-friendly environment. Virginia Beach Looks to Add Data Centers

In a move to attract more data center investment into the Tidewater area, the city of Virginia Beach has dropped the tax rate on equipment purchases by 10% of the previous rate.  This takes the initial tax rate of 4% down to .4% on products such as IT, power equipment, cooling equipment and additional products needed for a Data Center facility.
