$20 Billion Invested into Data Centers in 2017

Think the fast-paced tech world isn’t here to stay? Wrong. In 2017 alone, over $20 billion dollars was invested into the Data Center Market, doubling the numbers from 2016. The total was largely driven by the rapid growth of online sales led by Amazon, Microsoft and Google. Apple has also promising to spend over $10 billion in U.S. Data Centers in the next 10 years.

According to CBRE, data center investments rose to $7.7bn in 2016, compared to $5.7bn in 2015 and $3.9bn in 2014. This year will be no exception to the trend, with the total of all investments expected to rise beyond the $20bn mark.
