Data Center Growth In Northern Virginia

The U.S. Data Center industry is on the rise according to Urbanland. The first half of 2017 saw record levels for investment in the U.S Data Center sector. This nearly doubles investment into the sector from 2016 and is on track to surpass the last 3 years combined.
The areas with the largest growth have been Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Greater New York, Northern Virginia, Phoenix and Silicon Valley in California.

Northern Virginia is especially growing, with some of the largest and most active data center marketspaces in the world. Northern Virginia is even outshining Europe and Asian-Pacific countries.

Growth has been seen in stand-alone large data centers and colocation data centers. There are nearly 284MW of wholesale capacity under construction currently in the market.
